Sam versus Alien

5,000 HITS!! YAY! Thanks to everyone for making it happen - Thanks for visiting, thanks for "favorites", and thanks for watching! Now onward to 6,000 Hits (with some more Voting, so keep track via the Journals!)

A818 Card - Draft1

My first attempt at digital coloring (in Photoshop CS3) which is a draft of my business card, featuring the A818 (Sweatermeat) Twins - Wendi & Wanda!

Anyways, here's my turtleneck-sweater-clad, glasses-wearing, red-haired/strawberry-blonde, identical twin sisters/mascots - the A818 (Sweatermeat) Twins, Wendi & Wanda - doing their job of presenting my info!

6K and other things...

Hiyas Peoples!

6,000 Hits is coming up so its time to decide on the next bits to draw, and this time, I don't think I'm going to offer a topic, and YOU the viewers recommend an idea. Which ever idea gets the most votes will be drawn (and would be featuring some of the Trouble~Magnets cast and/or the Mascots). In any case, I hope some fresh ideas appear here ;)

This weekend is my pal Spoon's (aka Mr.Eff7) 30th bday for which I will heading up there to the Boston, MA area (keep in mind I'm in NY) to celebrate this event! That means I will be leaving on Friday (hence no posting of new art) and should be back Sunday, so I will be posting new art next friday (hopefully with more than 2 pieces - since I'll be drawing Spoon's gift MUAHAHAA).

Beyond that, I managed to get the commission delivered (as well as another piece), and have 2 pieces in the works (1 being an idea for my Pal, Brian, at Upstate Comics and the other being Spoon's gift) and trying to do some more panel work on Trouble~Magnets... thinking of just doing a few 1-panel gags on it as I try to weave a story together with my cast. It's sort of funny... I have a good chunk of the cast all set and done, however, the storyline itself is elusive... However, we'll get it!!

Now, let's get some ideas on here ;)

A traveling artist who loves to draw as well as likes to collect art and exchange artwork. Whenever I can, I usually try to work a(comic or anime) Convention and if not, then at least to attend the show, for I tend to be inspired by other artists and their ideas (while getting more artwork/exchanges in my books).

As for myself, well, I tend to love a gal in a turtleneck sweater and glasses (especially identical twin sisters or exact clones or other multiples in matching outfits - my typical art exchange topic - like my Sweatermeat Twins Mascots). This topic tends to be a "trademark" of a lot of my drawings (tho not necessarily the only stuff I draw). I like a lot of different genres, from superheroes to pulp noir, from fables to pin-ups, from humor to the undead, just about anything goes, albeit every artist has their limits...

Beyond that, I'd say with commissions, I'm game for most things, and tend to keep things simple:

$10 Pencils - Pencils - Single person
$20 Pencils - Pencils - Single person with background
$30 Pencils & Inks - Single person
$40 Pencils & Inks - Single person with background

*Extra detail = extra cost (to be determined by content)

** Reworked pieces have a discount to them...

*** Color work can be done, tho more in the works, unless marker work is wanted (which can be provided for an extra cost). Currently, experimenting with digital coloring...

So, a pencil & ink drawing of 3 people, like Triad of DC's Legion of Superheroes, would be 3 x $30 = $90. Beyond 3 people, a discount can be provided, altho it depends on how many more.. since all this is done by hand (not digitally, it does take some time)...

Yet, with backgrounds, I tend to keep them nice and simple (or simply none), but for very detailed backgrounds, a bit more might be provided too.

...and sometimes a good art exchange seems to work...

In any case, enjoy the artistic masterpieces! Thanks for visiting (and hope you come back soon), and even better, if there's a favorite you like in this gallery!

Well, I'll surely be posting a few pics of a redhead in glasses. My mother is an identical twin, tho, so I kind of shy away from that...
